U.S. VeteranThere will be services at 1 PM Tuesday July 31, 2012 at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for Alfred M. DeJulio age 87, who passed away Friday July 27, 2012 at O’Brien Memorial Health Care Center.

Alfred was born October 30, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio a son of Salvatore & Lucy Campana DeJulio.

He was a 1943 graduate of East High School, and a 1950 graduate of Youngstown College with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education.

He worked for 40 years in radio for WHOT as a disc jockey, newsman, and salesman until his retirement in 1987. He was also the disc jockey and host of Legendary “45 HOP” which was one of the earliest TV dance shows. He also was an announcer for Hubbard Football and Basketball Games from 1970-2000. He also served on the Hubbard Board of Education for many years, and was a member of Hubbard Sports Hall of Fame. He and his brother Ray founded and operated the Hubbard Eagle Newspaper for over 30 years.

He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps serving during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

He will be sadly missed by his family,his wife the former Donna M. Diego whom he married March 1, 1947, his sons Robert A. (Sandra) DeJulio, Ronald A. (Diane) DeJulio both of Hubbard, his four grandchildren Amber (Tom) Babik, Ronald (Lauren) DeJulio Jr., Anna (John) Martin, and Danielle DeJulio and two great grandchildren Annaliese and Luca.

He also leaves a sister Eleanor Conti of California, and sister-in-laws Delores DeJulio of San Diego, CA., Mary DeJulio of Howland, and Kay DeJulio of Hubbard.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers John DeJulio and his wife Elsie, Raymond DeJulio, William DeJulio, Robert DeJulio, and his sister Della Palmer and her husband Carman.

There will be calling hours on Monday July 30, 2012 from 5-8 PM and Tuesday July 31, 2012 one hour prior to the service from noon to 1 PM at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery with full military honors provided by Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
